Frequently asked questions
What types of form fields are supported?
The tool supports text fields (single and multi-line), checkboxes, and dropdown menus. These cover the vast majority of interactive PDF forms. Signature fields and radio buttons are detected but may have limited editing support.
Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?
No. All form detection and filling happens entirely in your browser. Your files and the data you enter never leave your device.
What if my PDF has no form fields?
If the PDF is a flat document (scanned image or non-interactive PDF), no fields will be detected. This tool works with PDFs that have interactive AcroForm fields built in. You can use the PDF watermark tool to add text overlays to flat PDFs.
Can I save a partially filled form and continue later?
The tool does not save state between sessions. Fill all fields in one session and download the result. Your original file remains unchanged, so you can re-upload and start over if needed.
Will the filled PDF look the same in other viewers?
Yes. The filled values are embedded in the PDF using standard AcroForm specifications. The result opens correctly in Adobe Reader, Preview, Chrome, and all major PDF viewers.
